Murdoch University Alumni Malaysian Chapter treats orphans at their Bi-Annual Movie Event 2016

Saturday 28th May 2016 was a fun day for more than 200 Murdoch alumni and guests as they were treated by the Murdoch University Alumni Malaysian Chapter to its regular movie extravaganza, with a screening of X-Men: Apocalypse at Golden Screen Cinemas at NU Sentral Mall, Kuala Lumpur. This 5th Bi-Annual event will be held next in the year 2018.

The movie extravaganza, which is proudly sponsored by Murdoch University Alumni Relations, has been a signature event for the Malaysian Chapter since 2009 and encourages alumni to come together to enjoy an event with their family and friends. For the second year in a row the Chapter also invited 85 children and teenagers with their guardians from local orphanages, underprivileged homes and rehabilitation centres to enjoy the movie event. They came from Desa Amal Jerih Orphanage, RLS Bandar Puteri Community and Calvaryland.

Special guests at the event included Jennifer Wan, Education Manager at Austrade, Ms Pat Yeoh, President of The Malaysian Australian Alumni (MAAC) and Nicole Lim, MAAC Vice President for Bilateral Relations. Other guests include representatives from other Australian Universities Alumni Chapter in Malaysia.
