Murdoch University Alumni treat alumni and community at Movie Extravaganza 2015 – Avengers : Age of Ultron
Saturday 9th May 2015 was a fun day for 200 Murdoch alumni and guests as they were treated by the Murdoch University Alumni Malaysian Chapter to its Bi-Annual Movie Extravaganza with a screening of Avengers : Age of Ultron at Golden Screen Cinemas at NU Sentral Mall, Kuala Lumpur.
The Bi-Annual Movie Extravaganza, which is proudly sponsored by Murdoch University Alumni Relations, has been a signature event for the Malaysian Chapter since 2009 and encourages alumni to come together to enjoy an event with their family and friends.
Special guests at the event included Petronila Maurice, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training at the Australian High Commission, Adelene Teo from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade at the Australian High Commission, Celia Yeo, Education Services Director for Victorian Government Business Office and Ms Pat PW Yeoh, President of the Malaysian Australian Alumni Council, along with alumni chapter representatives from other Australian universities.
This year marks not only Murdoch University’s 40th anniversary, but also the 15th anniversary of the Murdoch University Alumni Malaysian Chapter. To celebrate this occasion, the Chapter invited 78 children and teenagers with their guardians from local orphanages, underprivileged homes and rehabilitation centres to enjoy the movie event.
During his short speech at the cinema hall, President of the Chapter Mr Adrian Ong thanked Murdoch University sincerely for their support of the event and for giving the orphans and underprivileged children the opportunity to enjoy the movie. He also said that the Chapter will continue this charitable initiative whenever possible.
